Protect Our Rivers and Communities!
ACT NOW – Tell Congress: Fund Rivers, Safeguard Communities.
Healthy rivers are essential to clean water, thriving communities, and a strong economy.
Unfortunately, we have entered a government shutdown, and harmful cuts are already reducing the ability of agencies like EPA, NOAA, NPS, and USFWS to protect our waterways. Thousands of staff have already been lost -- weakening efforts to repair dams, restore floodplains, reconnect aquatic habitats, and ensure safe, reliable water supplies for people and wildlife alike.
What’s at risk?
Without adequate funding, communities will face crumbling water infrastructure, weakened flood protection, and greater risks from wildfires and disasters. Businesses and families that rely on clean, healthy rivers will pay the price. A shutdown will only make these challenges worse.
What can be done?
Congress must act now to keep the government open and move forward a bipartisan FY26 appropriations bill that rejects harmful cuts and invests in rivers, ecosystems, and people.
