In 2023, York Energy Storage, LLC proposed construction of a 225-foot-high, 1.8-mile long dam and power turbine pumped storage facility, which would flood 580 acres of land along the Susquehanna River. Our partners at Lancaster Conservancy and the Lower Susquehanna River Keeper have been leading and advocating in opposition of this project which would devastate this incredible area known for it’s rich natural, cultural, and recreational resources.
