Early Victories for America’s Most Endangered Rivers™

Catawba RiverGood things are happening for the America’s Most Endangered Rivers™: 2008 Edition. Since last month’s release there has been progress, including:

#1 Catawba-Wateree River (NC, SC): The South Carolina Legislature blocked legislation that would have been disastrous for the river and the region’s water supply.

#4 St. Lawrence River (NY, Canada)
: Reps. John McHugh (R-NY) and Louise Slaughter (D-NY) introduced legislation to make the sustainable Plan B+ management plan the preferred choice of the U.S. House of Representatives for a dam on the river.

It’s not too late to help save the other endangered rivers. More
