Apply Now! Stream Barrier Removal Grants Available
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) awarded American Rivers $600,000 to fund the removal of dams and other stream barriers in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Northwest and California. Since 2001, NOAA has partnered with us to provide communities with financial and technical assistance to restore stream habitats that benefit local economies and fish. Apply by April 1 to be eligible for the next round of funding. More

EPA Says No to Wasteful, Devastating Army Corps Project For years, American Rivers has fought against the environmentally devastating Yazoo Pumps project that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been pushing for more than six decades. The project would waste taxpayers’ money and damage an area of wetlands equal to the size of the five New York City boroughs combined. Last month, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced it is putting a stop to the Yazoo Pumps. More
