Don't Use the Drought as an Excuse to Gut the Endangered Species Act
California congressional Representatives, who have ties to big agricultural farms in the Central Valley, are back at it again, pushing a water bill that that includes provisions designed to overturn decades of negotiations among broad stakeholders and gut the Endangered Species Act.
This bill is rehashing outdated ideas that don’t reflect the views of most Californians. It is a shameless attempt to use the suffering of people who are trying to cope with the impacts of California’s drought as an excuse to waive environmental laws.
With support from activists like you, we stopped a similar bill two years ago. Now we need your help to stop this one before it rolls back protections for our rivers and clean water.
Take Action! Your representatives in Congress need to hear from you. Urge them to oppose this assault on our rivers and oppose the misleading “Water Rights Protection” bill.
